Job Description

We are seeking a Marketing Production Specialist with a blend of graphic design and marketing experience to join the PTDA team. You will assist the Director, Marketing & Communications to increase participation in our programs and services and communicate industry and association trends and news. This is a part-time, 24 hours/week position.

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) is the leading association for the industrial power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distribution channel. Our members are the companies that distribute and manufacture the components that keep your world running smoothly. The parts that go into the machines that made your car, your phone or your Amazon order all come from our industry.


The PTDA staff is a close-knit, collaborative group who takes pride in the extraordinary customer service and support we provide to both the membership and each other. Our office is located in downtown Chicago and is easily accessible by Metra and the CTA bus and rail lines. PTDA hosts staff outings, birthday lunches, puzzles and Jenga. We also have a casual dress code.


What You’ll Do

  • Support the implementation of the marketing and communication plans for PTDA and the PTDA Foundation.
  • Manage the production of content deliverables for various marketing campaigns.
  • Design and deploy broad marketing tactics (direct mail, email, social media, collateral, website, signage, etc.).


What You Need

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a marketing position.
  • Post-secondary education preferred, preferably in design or marketing and communications.
  • Technical skills:  Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) in a PC environment. Familiarity with HTML.
  • A deep understanding of design and layout fundamentals and the ability to enhance communications through graphic appeal and brand consistency
  • An eye for proofreading for spelling, grammar and ease of understanding
  • Experience in maximizing visibility through SEO and social networking platforms including Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; thrive in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Attention to detail and a deadline-driven work ethic.
  • Commitment to being part of a successful team.
