Lead Barista

Job Summary:

The lead barista has a passion for coffee and the coffee industry. They provide quality customer service and demonstrated knowledge of coffee products, tea products, equipment, food service. The lead barista provides technical guidance to new team members and assists in the training program. The lead barista is a Person-in-Charge (PIC) and has the appropriate managerial health certificate from IDPH. They have responsibility for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He/she/they are responsible for making a difference to our customers by educating them about our premium coffees and teas. Lead baristas are instrumental in building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment. The lead barista fulfills any other duties the owner/manager assigns and represents necessary & sufficient coffee in a professional manner. All team members are expected to support our core and guiding principles, and working agreements.

  • Ensuring an excellent and consistent customer experience
  • Working closely with owner on projects and special events
  • Staff schedule, hours, tips.
  • Overseeing inventory
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Ensuring quality of drinks and food
  • Rotating and developing seasonal drinks and food
  • Keeping menus up to date
  • Working weekly shifts
  • Keeping areas clean behind the bar, in front of the bar, bathroom, trash
